Bates men’s basketball first-year Elliott Cravitz was named the Maine Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday by the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association.

Cravitz (Denver, Colo.) averaged 18.5 points on 11-for-20 shooting from three and 12-for-24 shooting from the field as Bates went 2-0 on the week. Cravitz started off the week with a career-high 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting in a 94-65 win over UMF on Tuesday. The first-year guard would then top that as Cravitz scored 22 points, including knocking down six threes, as the Bobcats defeated Tufts 67-63 on Saturday.

Cravitz is Co-Rookie of the Week with Colby’s Max Poulton. He is the first Bobcat to earn Rookie of the Week honors since Simon McCormick ’24 on Feb. 2, 2022.

The Bobcats (7-10, 1-3 NESCAC) are currently ranked second in the state of Maine coaches poll. They return to action this Friday at No. 5 nationally ranked Middlebury. Tip is set for 7pm.
