Bates College Wenger named NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week

Bates junior Grace Wenger was named NESCAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week on Tuesday, announced by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, following her outstanding efforts at the opening meet of the season at Wesleyan for the Bobcats. 

Wenger (Hanover, N.H.) won the 100 and 200 freestyle events with times of 52.38 and 1:52.82, respectively. She also posted a time of 58.94 in the 100 butterfly and a split of 23.6 in the 200 freestyle relay. 

A seven-time All-American, Wenger is the first Bates women’s swimmer to earn NESCAC Performer of the Week since Lindsey Prelgovisk ’16 in 2015.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3 when Bates heads to Waterville for the Maine State Meet.
