After a short week and half of practice the Mustangs were challenged with facing WPI a team who already had played 2 games coming out of winterbreak.

The first 10 minutes were sloppy and WPI would grab a lead after pinning the Mustangs in their own zone. All the Mustangs needed was a momentum shift and Cam Knowles provided that with a sneaky shot that beat the goaltender. What came next was a Mustang storm scoring 4 goals in about 2 and half minutes making the 1st period score 4-1. “We talk about finishing games and using your momentum all the time, tonight we took advantage of this by scoring 4 quick goals,” added Coach Knoren.

The next 2 periods the Mustangs remained in control of the game and producing some quality hockey and offensive opportunities. The final score would end up being 9-3 with having at least 7 different goal scorers. “This was a total great team effort, the team responded after a sloppy start and it seems like everybody contributed,” said Coach Knoren.
