Central Maine Community College Mustangs wins contest against Monroe Community College on Friday, 8-4

The Mustangs got things moving in the first inning. Emily Wormwood singled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs. CM then scored three runs in the fourth inning. They were led by Sarah Poli and McKenna Ridlon, all driving in runs in the frame.

Riley McNamara earned the victory on the rubber for the Mustangs. McNamara allowed four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five. Sage Cormier threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Schwesthoffer took the loss for Monroe Community College. The pitcher allowed 14 hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out seven.

Olivia Scott started the game for Central Maine Community College Mustangs. The fireballer went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out five. Central Maine Community College Mustangs saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Poli, Wormwood, Alyvia Perreault, and Paige Ouellette each collected multiple hits for the Mustangs. While Sage Cormier, Olivia Scott and Emily Sanfacon each collected hits. Poli went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Mustangs in hits. 

The Mustangs were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
