Lewiston Police Department Were Dispatched to Dirigo Federal Credit Union on Main St. for a Report of a Robbery

This morning, July 14, 2022, just before 8am, the Lewiston Police were dispatched to Dirigo Federal Credit Union on Main St. for a report of a Robbery. When police arrived, they located an elderly male who stated he was assaulted and robbed, by two men, of the cash he had just withdrawn from the exterior ATM. 

Lewiston Police officers quickly began speaking to witnesses and gathering video footage in the area. While canvassing the area, Police located a male a block away who matched the description of one of the suspects. The suspect, 24yo, Jonathan EDWARDS of Auburn, was transported to the station and identified as one of the suspects. EDWARDS has been charged with Robbery, Theft, and Assault, he remains at Androscoggin County Jail with a $5,000 cash bail.

Lewiston Police are currently seeking the other suspect, not being identified at this time.
