Lynn Albert Leger, a Lewiston native, Vietnam veteran, and local artist, visited Lewiston City Hall this date due to a feature the Sun Journal is doing on a piece of his artwork that has long been on display there. Mr. Leger previously spent 122 hours carving the Lewiston municipal seal on Monson Maine black slate (self taught from a Lewiston Public Library book) and presented it to former Mayor Lillian Caron back in the 70s. Today, he talked about the seal and his work with current Mayor Carl L. Sheline. Mayor Sheline enjoyed hearing about the carving process and thanked him for both his artistic and military service.
