Lewiston Police have received several reports from citizens indicating they have been contacted by someone who CLAIMS to be a member of the Lewiston Police Dept. requesting mobile payment or other personal information. The Scammer threatens the citizen with arrest if the payment is not made. THIS IS A SCAM! No one from the LPD will ever call to request funds or personal information. If you receive this type of call, please HANG UP. Most of these SCAMMERS operate overseas and target our most vulnerable population.
