CONGRATULATIONS, Lewiston Public Library Children's Librarian Sara Turner has been accepted into the 2022 cohort for the New England Library Leadership Symposium (NELLS). The program is designed for emerging leaders, and those accepted are early to mid-career library employees who have demonstrated potential to become leaders in the field or who aspire to hold leadership positions.
Mayor Carl L. Sheline, notes, "The qualities that Sara has demonstrated in her work within the Children's Department have been outstanding, and I'm excited that she has this opportunity!"
Library Director Marcela Peres concurs, “All of us are very proud of Sara’s acceptance into the NELLS program. In her two years with the City, Sara has proven herself to be a natural leader, from her tireless work on the Lewiston Read citywide reading initiative, to building countless partnerships and collaborations with Lewiston Public Schools, community nonprofits, local businesses, homeschooling families, and more. This program will give her the opportunity to build on her skills, and I am excited to see her grow.”
