This afternoon, September 15, 2022, at 2:40 pm, the Lewiston Police Department responded to 64 Oxford St. (Place St. Marie Housing Development) for a report of a male shot in the parking lot.
When police arrived they located a 27yo male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the pelvis. The male was provided medical attention at the scene and was transported to Central Maine Medical Center where he remains in serious condition.
Police are continuing to interview witnesses and gather evidence in the area. As of right now, it appears the victim and suspect were involved in an altercation prior to the shooting and this does not look to be a random attack.
