Public art brings life to a community, a sense of vibrancy and creativity. The site of Lewiston's latest public art piece, at the corner of Pine/Howe, was celebrated today with the continued installation work for "Nailed It" by creator William Josiah Glover, Jr. The piece is part of the Choice Neighborhood Public Art Installations.
Glover notes that the hammer is a symbol of rebuilding and development. He hopes to spark memories of moments shared with family or friends to build things together and inspire people to participate and feel involved in the joint effort of developing a fun, beautiful, and nurturing city. He says the sculpture is also a hat lift to all the builders and construction workers who have made Lewiston the city it is today. Enjoy!
