Senior captain Anna Rozin won her doubles match in dominant fashion and took home a victory at No. 1 singles as well in a 6-3 loss for the Bates women's tennis team to No. 19 nationally ranked Skidmore Friday night.
Rozin (Toronto, Ontario) teamed with sophomore Ally Friedman (East Hampton, N.Y.) to win in commanding fashion by a score of 8-0 at No. 1 doubles over Skidmore's Chanhtel Thongphok and Grace Truong. The Bobcats (2-5) picked up another doubles win at No. 3, with first-years Drew Williams (Guilford, Conn.) and Olivia Gidlow (Cleveland, Ohio) winning 8-3 over Sofia Carlsson and Konika Dhull.
Rozin continued her strong play at No. 1 singles, defeating Katherine Almquist in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. Elsewhere, junior Joanna Atwater (Short Hills, N.J.) took Lily Feldman to three sets before falling 6-3, 4-6, 6-0. The hosts won the other four singles matches in straight sets to defeat the Bobcats.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, April 2 at 2pm when they visit Connecticut College.
