CM Baseball kicked off their fall season with a convincing 11-4 win over conference foe NHTI on Thursday afternoon in Concord.
Craig Burnett picked up his first collegiate win after going five innings giving up one run and striking out six. He gave way to Mason Booker and Keith Hooker who kept the Lynx bats silent. Offensively, the Mustangs pounded out 11 hits led by sophomore Shane Sullivan who had three hits and two RBI. Rolando Rodriguez and Zach Mann each had doubles for the Mustangs. Sullivan, Mann, Rodriguez and Hooker were all repeat hitters.
"We started off strong and we ended strong," said mustangs Coach Ryan Palmer. "We need to work on those middle innings and not become so complacent. For the first time out, I was very pleased with our effort, especially our pitching"
The Mustangs travel north to Presque Isle on Saturday to take on UMPI in a doubleheader
